What can we Anzacs teach each other about HPMVs?
Australia’s National Heavy Vehicle Regulator’s latest discussion paper Removing Roadblocks to Reform, seeks to revise that country’s Performance Based Standard (PBS) system. Essentially, it explores the idea of transitioning to a pro-forma PBS system – much like our own – for what have become de facto PBS designs, while getting the PBS concept back to designing specific vehicles for specific tasks.
But can the Aussies and Kiwis perhaps learn more from each other’s systems? The perfect system would appear to be some mix of the two…
