Registrations are open for the Trucking Industry Summit, taking place on 30 July at the Te Pae Convention Centre in Christchurch.
The event, hosted by New Zealand Trucking Association and National Road Carriers, will focus on issues affecting the supply chain. It will bring government, stakeholders, and operators together to discuss the issues in an open forum style.
The summit will be a full day of both information and discussion, with opportunities to network with fellow operators and officials.
Speakers include Minister of Transport Michael Wood, Road to Zero portfolio manager Tara MacMillan, Police Assistant Commissioner Bruce O’Brien and more.
Topics covered include workforce strategy, Road to Zero, safe roads, productivity, and decarbonisation.
“The industry has some major challenges. Driver shortage, poor road conditions and RUC reviews are just to name a few that need discussion right now,” said Dave Boyce CEO NZ Trucking Association.
“I am sure there will be some robust discussions throughout the day and this summit format is a perfect way to include the whole industry.”
Transport kept the supply chain moving through the pandemic and now as the economy grows, we need to make sure our voices are heard so that we shape the future together collaboratively. After all our associations together represent the bulk of the supply chain, said James Smith COO National Road Carriers
There will be morning tea, a Transport Legends Lunch, afternoon tea and happy hour.
