Trucking at its best

At the risk of dragging out what’s now become a tired, old trope – it’s great to see things have returned to normal! I write this sitting in the thick of the 2022 TMC Trucking Industry Show, which has returned to the Canterbury Agricultural Park, Christchurch, after a four-year, Covid-delayed hiatus. And boy, it’s great to be back at a busy, buzzing truck show!

Organised by the New Zealand Trucking Association and taking place today and tomorrow (25/26 November), more than 100 exhibitors representing all parts of the industry are keeping visitors entertained and engaged with all things trucking.

The TR Group New Zealand Truck Driving Championships are underway and we’re really excited to watch the finals on Saturday. Likewise, the skill demonstrated in the Palfinger New Zealand Crane Championships and Liebherr Crane Operator Competition is something to behold.

It’s gratifying to see all the interest in today’s Trucking Careers Showcase, as well as in the new, improved MAN Road Safety Truck. Of course, the best of the best are on display and vying for top honours in the UDC Finance Show & Shine.

New Zealand Trucking media is here in force, representing New Zealand Trucking magazine, Little Trucker Down Under and Trucking Radio 24/7. We also have the star of Retro Test 4 on our stand, Sollys Contracting’s immaculate Kenworth W924 – ‘Rocky’!

If you’re at the show, come round to stand No.42 and say hi!

Keep an eye out on our social media accounts over the next few days for show highlights. A full report will follow in our forthcoming December 2022/January 2023 issue, with a high-res show gallery on the New Zealand Trucking website events page.

All the best,
