Sime Motors charity auctions drive fundraising goal over the line

The recent Sime Motors NZ Gear Up for Mental Health auctions have helped the company reach its 12-month fundraising target of $150,000.
As a major partner of the Mental Health Foundation of NZ, Sime Motors invited suppliers and partners to donate products to turn into dollars during Mental Health Awareness Week.
Seventeen Trade Me auctions over eight days in March then converted those products into $14,139 for the charity.
“We’re delighted with the response,” said Pat McKenna, managing director of Sime Motors NZ.
“The transport industry in New Zealand has always worked together – it takes co-operation on all fronts to get anything moving,” he said.
“We just wanted to take the opportunity to thank our own people, our customers, the media and the wider transport community for joining us to support the important mahi carried out by the Mental Health Foundation.”
The 17 auctions featured a wide range of products from a set of Alcoa wheels worth $10,000 to merchandise from transport supply partners, as well as truck, crane, car and motorcycle brands represented by businesses within the Sime Motors group in New Zealand.
