Seven of Scania New Zealand’s eight new service centres are shop-window ready and open for business.
Mattias Lundholm, managing director of Scania New Zealand, says the new-look dealer network service centres, made up of seven Trucks & Trailers service centres acquired in August, are now fitted out with Scania branding and set for their first official days of servicing as part of the Scania stable.
Scania New Zealand has also established a workshop in Rotorua, which starts with limited capacity in December.
Lundholm says incorporating the Trucks & Trailers employees into the Scania team has been one of the most satisfying parts of the journey.
“It was very important for Scania to align with a business like Trucks & Trailers that shared its values towards its people, customers and community, so it’s been a very efficient and rewarding process bringing them all up to speed on our own Scania values,” says Lundholm. “They wear the Scania brand well.”
Lundholm says acquiring the centres significantly expanded Scania’s footprint across the country, and just as importantly underlined the company’s commitment to its customers and provincial New Zealand.
The expansion lifts Scania’s stable of nationwide dealerships and will almost treble its number of employees to a team of more than 165.
The new Scania-branded service centre locations are:
Scania Auckland (Wiri)
Scania Palmerston North
There are some gaps across New Zealand, but Scania New Zealand says it is working on a solution, with more to come soon.
