Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation (MFTBC) has announced it is moving its corporate headquarters to the newly constructed Product Center on the site of the Kawasaki Plant in Kawasaki City.

Since December 2015, key corporate functions were located at the Shin-Kawasaki Mitsui Building, located close to MFTBC‘s primary production facility, the Kawasaki Plant. These functions will now be consolidated at the site of the Kawasaki Plant in order to improve operational and business efficiency.

By the end of 2018, everything will move to the new five-storey Product Center building, including the Research & Development Headquarters, until now housed at the Kawasaki Plant Number 2. The latter follows the January 2017 agreement to sell the Kawasaki Plant Number 2, which will be fully vacated by the end of 2018.

The construction of the Product Center as well as various new facilities at the Kawasaki Plant is part of MFTBC‘s large-scale Campus+ Project. This project was launched in line with the Daimler Trucks Asia (DTA) strategy of DTA One. Of the strategy‘s three strategic pillars, ‘Product, Process and People‘, the Campus+ project falls within the ‘Process‘ pillar. On the production side, MFTBC is investing in automation and digitisation to improve efficiency and quality.
