Mask use changes, capacity limits dropped at orange

In News1 MinutesBy NZ Trucking magazineApril 14, 2022

There are several changes to gathering limits and mask requirements following the Government’s decision to move New Zealand into the orange setting of the Traffic Light system this week.

The new setting removes gathering/capacity limits both indoors and outdoors, as well as removes distancing requirements.

Face masks are also no longer required when outdoors, however remain encouraged when indoors.

Mask use was still required on public transport, domestic flights and taxis, including arrival and departure points, on school-funded transport if aged 12 and over, as well as inside retail businesses including supermarkets, shopping malls and petrol stations. etc

Masks were still required inside public facilities such as courts, libraries and museums, however were not required inside swimming complexes.

Masks remained mandatory inside local and central government agencies and social service providers, healthcare services including aged care facilities, and for those who worked in a food and drink business or service or close-proximity business such as a hairdresser, or at an event.
