Isuzu Trucks New Zealand has appointed Invercargill-based Southern Mechanical Services as its new service centre partner as it looks to strengthen its service dealer network.

“We recognise that having a strong dealer service network nationwide is crucial to maintaining high levels of support for Isuzu Truck customers and we are fortunate to have a very good network of Authorised Service Centre partners, as additional support for our Master Truck Dealers,” said Dave Ballantyne, general manager of Isuzu Trucks New Zealand.

“We are thrilled the team at Southern Mechanical Services has now come on board with Isuzu Trucks in Invercargill, as it helps to further strengthen our nationwide network and provides additional peace of mind for owner/ operators in the southernmost part of the South Island,” he said.

“It further contributes to the all-round value proposition attainable with Isuzu Trucks and reinforces our position as the number one brand of new trucks in the country.”

Established in 2010, Southern Mechanical Services specialise in all heavy automotive repairs and are the biggest privately owned workshop in Invercargill.

Lloyd Phillips, general manager of Phillips Group Ltd, owners of SMS, said the company has grown steadily from small beginnings and now employs a team of almost 20 people.

“We are very excited to be able to deliver a service to all the new and existing Isuzu Truck customers and play a large part in keeping the wheels rolling in and around the lower South Island for many years to come.”

Isuzu Trucks is represented by 11 Master Truck Dealers offering full sales, parts and service facilities and 18 Authorised Service Centres throughout the country.
