The Clean Car Discount is officially ending on 31 December 2023.

National pledged to cancel the discount by 31 December, and the amendment to the Land Transport Management Act was accepted by Parliament to be considered under urgency this week.

It is likely to be passed in the coming days.

Waka Kotahi has confirmed 31 December will be the last day for vehicles to be registered to receive a rebate. Rebate applications submitted after 11:59pm on 31 December 2023 won’t be accepted.
