Daimler Trucks has appointed CablePrice as its dealer partner for the South Island.

CablePrice will be authorised to sell and service the full range of Mercedes-Benz and Freightliner trucks with an established dealer network, with sites operating out of Christchurch, Invercargill and Greymouth.

“We are excited to have such a well-established and reputable network partner represent our Mercedes-Benz and Freightliner brands in the South Island,” says Daimler Truck and Bus president and CEO, Daniel Whitehead.

“This is a massive win for our customers, who can expect the best sales, service and support from an operation that has more than 65 years of experience servicing the heavy transport industry in the South Island.”

CablePrice will take over responsibility for the South Island from 1 April, the same time that Prestige Commercial Vehicles ends its representation of the Mercedes-Benz and Freightliner brands.

“CablePrice is delighted to be partnering with Daimler Trucks and our South Island staff are excited about the potential of this new partnership,” says CablePrice chairman David Harvey. “We are all looking forward to providing our new Mercedes-Benz and Freightliner customers with the same proven sales and support for which CablePrice is renowned.

“The strength of CablePrice comes from delivering the highest level of after-sales service and assistance to our customers who buy and use the world‘s leading brands and products.”

Harvey says CablePrice is excited to add Mercedes-Benz and Freightliner to its brand stable, as both have well-deserved outstanding global reputations in their fields of expertise.

As a result of the new appointment, CablePrice would now be actively recruiting more technicians for its South Island operations.

Whitehead says the improved South Island representation comes at a great time for Daimler Trucks.

“The Mercedes-Benz Actros will soon be even further improved, continuing its cabover leadership, while the Freightliner Cascadia is set to become the clear class leader when it arrives in the next few months,” he says.

“It is wonderful to be able to support these ground-breaking products with such a high-quality dealership network.”
