Andy Ewart had an interesting load on his 2014 Kenworth T409 SAR – an I Am Hope-branded digger bound for a demonstration in the South Island.

Andy has been driving for 14 years now. Previously, he’d worked for Nationwide Livestock and also worked alongside New Zealand Trucking magazine contributor Paul O’Callaghan in Australia.

Now working for B R Satherley Transport, his main work is heavy haulage. Based in Darfield, he had started the day in Bulls and was heading to Blenheim.

Andy says he enjoys his job because he meets interesting people and has new experiences every day.

As for the main problem in the industry … as he sees it, he says there aren’t enough truck stops.

“Especially places where you can stop at night.”

Andy’s pick of vexing questions was who he would least like to meet and why.

“Jacinda Ardern.” Enough said!
