The 2019 Optifuel Challenge swings into action

Every two years, Optifuel Challenge, Renault Trucks‘ rational driving competition, attracts top international eco-drivers. For this fifth edition, 2000 drivers from 25 countries entered, with the best driver from each country going forward to the international final in Lyon in October, in a bid to win the prize of a 2019 Renault Trucks T High.

Created in 2012 and focusing on eco-driving, the Optifuel Challenge embodies both Renault Trucks’ commitment to help drivers save fuel and its global vehicle-driver-services approach, by sustainably reducing fuel consumption from the very first kilometre.

The finalists first complete a questionnaire to test their knowledge of eco-driving, before getting behind the wheel of one of the Renault Trucks T High 480 Maxispace, fitted with a Fuel Eco+ pack, provided for the competition. The driver able to best control fuel consumption, without sacrificing commercial speed, will win one of the trucks used in the competition.

The 25 competing countries are: Algeria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Chile, Czech Republic, Estonia, France, Hungary, Israel, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Morocco, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Spain, Switzerland, Tunisia, Turkey, Ukraine and the United Kingdom.
