Mitsubishi Fuso installs gas engine cogeneration system at Kawasaki Plant
Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation (MFTBC) has installed a gas engine cogeneration system at its Kawasaki Plant. A cogeneration system is one that generates more than two types of secondary energy from primary energy continually and concurrently. It uses exhaust heat at the time of power generation in generating
MFTBC replaced a 20-year-old gas turbine-based cogeneration system with the new engine-based
By using the newly deployed gas engine capable of producing 5750 kW of electricity, approximately half the plant‘s power demand can be covered. A hot-and-chilled-water network is used to cool and heat offices and production facilities across the Kawasaki Plant. This allows MFTBC to boost energy efficiency and reduce CO2 emissions.
