TRUCKERS’ HEALTH

2 MinutesBy NZ Trucking magazineJune 15, 2016

To some people this sounds like a hard task, but it doesn‘t have to be. It ‘s as simple as making sure you cook a bit extra the night before so that you have leftovers to take for lunch, or make up some healthy sandwiches before you go to bed, ready for you in the morning. It may even be that on your day off you cook a large vegetable-packed quiche, portion it up and freeze it so that during the week you can simply grab-and-go. Revert back to your youth and pack a lunchbox full of nutritious foods to keep you going!

If your accommodation provider provides your lunch for the next day as part of the deal your company has, discuss with them what it is you‘re wanting. Even if it‘s a couple of bucks more that you pay yourself, look on it as an investment in yourself and your family.
It is also important to write a shopping list before you head to the supermarket, so that you don‘t forget the important things, and also to avoid the temptation of throwing that dreaded bag of chips in your trolley!
