Isuzu New Zealand has appointed David Ballantyne as national sales manager.

“David is a person who is well known in the industry, as his entire career has been in heavy diesel-powered commercial vehicles and earthmoving equipment,” said Isuzu New Zealand general manager Colin Muir.

“He started in field service roles, progressed into sales then senior management positions including general manager. We‘re excited to have him on board as he brings with him an absolute wealth of knowledge and experience, as well as industry contacts.”

In his most recent role, Ballantyne was a senior manager at Mercedes-Benz Truck and Bus.

“David has a particular skillset which will be perfect for this new role, as it combines his recent European product experience with Isuzu‘s successful and proven model portfolio, one which has seen the brand enjoy 16 consecutive years as market leader here in New Zealand,” said Muir.

“He joins Isuzu at a time of unprecedented growth in sales volumes and market share, and will be instrumental in further evolving the Isuzu distribution and sales network. His operational responsibilities will also include introducing new technologies, as well as developing the product portfolio to future-proof the Isuzu brand for many years to come.”

Ballantyne starts his new role in mid-September..
