Space at the 2016 TRC Trailers Truck Show in Christchurch on 8 October is filling up fast and some great attractions are already booked.

In the most amazing setting at Wigram Airforce Base, working trucks will line up for the prestigious Show & Shine Trucks event. More than 40 trophies and prizes will be presented to the drivers at the completion of the show. This is an opportunity to show the community the professionalism and pride that exists in the industry. The public will vote for their best truck on the day in the people‘s choice category.

A new category this year to showcase company utes is Show & Shine Utes.

There will also be Classic Trucks, an area where you can look back in time and appreciate the work that goes into restoring these trucks. 

TR Group will be demonstrating their Rollover Prevention Heavy Vehicles Stability and Control programme and there will be a Steve Murphy log truck demonstration.

Truck Alley is where truck brands line up to show off what‘s new. Brands booked so far include Western Star, MAN, Hino, Scania, Fuso, Freightliner, Mercedes, and Mack.

The Mega Bouncy Truck by Heavy Trucks is bound to be a showstopper. The first of its kind and the largest in New Zealand, the bouncy truck is 13 metres long, eight metres wide and five metres high. The Heavy Trucks Giant Sandpit will be filled with tons of sand by Road Metals and there will be MAN trucks for the kids to play with and hunt for hidden treasure.

Fulton Hogan and 3M are preparing road markings for a kids‘ scooter roadway where they can learn valuable road lessons from the local police. NZTrucking Association ‘Share the Road Safely with Big Trucks‘ will be there too, and Fonterra‘s Paint By Numbers Canvas will be set up near the kids‘ zone.

Inside the trade hall a new group is forming to demonstrate the Tamiya Model Remote control trucks.

Immediately after the prizegiving the bars will open to those lucky enough to have secured dinner tickets and the entertainment of Bryan Townley and his 8-piece band will round off the day.
