Scania New Zealand has opened a brand new Scania dedicated service centre in Hastings to support its growing customer base from Wairoa in the north to half-way down the Napier-Taupo Road to the west.

The new branch, located at 1194 Maraekakaho Road in Longlands, Hastings, has a six-bay drive-through capacity with the ability to accommodate 11 technicians, replacing the previous two-bay workshop that opened in 2022.

Scania Hastings branch manager Felix Niemann says this new facility offers a one-stop shop, providing whatever Scania’s customers require from a single location, ensuring their uptime is maximised and downtime minimised.

“Importantly it also means we are no longer reliant on third-party service providers, enabling us to control the quality of service using our factory-trained technicians with full factory tooling and diagnostic equipment,” he says.

The new workshop includes a COF lane, full brake-roller and steering and suspension shaker-plate capabilities, along with a certified Dangerous Goods pit suitable for fuel tanker work, as well full air-conditioning servicing and re-gassing.

Scania New Zealand managing director, Victor Carvalho, says this new facility represents a significant investment in Scania’s unwavering focus on efficiency, sustainability, and customer service excellence.
