Keith Andrews EV trucks eligible for govt grant
The FUSO eCanter and Mercedes-Benz eActros are eligible for a 25% discount under the Government’s $27.5m Low Emissions Heavy Vehicle Fund.
Keith Andrews is an approved supplier for LEHVF vehicles with stock on the ground at local dealerships throughout the country.
FUSO eCanter – 100% electric, light-duty
FUSO eCanter was the first fully electric light-duty truck available in New Zealand.
Available in 4×2 configuration with a 6 tonne or 7.5 tonne GCM, FUSO eCanter delivers a 135kW maximum output and a range of up to 150km.
Since its introduction in 2019, FUSO eCanter has been adopted by major operators such as Mainfreight, Z Energy, PlaceMakers, Bidfood, Genesis and Carr & Haslam.
With its fully electric drivetrain fitted to FUSO’s standard 3400mm Canter cab chassis platform and 750mm wide frame, the eCanter can be customised for a broad range of applications.
Mercedes-Benz eActros
The 100% electric medium-duty truck has undergone 4000km of testing on Kiwi roads.
Available in 4×2 or 6×2 configurations, the eActros 300 delivers 400kW peak power and a range of up to 300km.
“Local testing, fully loaded, achieved a 300km range with 20% battery charge remaining, which places it squarely in the market for metro operators and those driving between large population centres,” said Keith Andrews product planning manager Matt Gillatt.
NZ Post put New Zealand’s first eActros to work in July, operating daily between the North Shore and Silverdale covering over 300km per day.
The Mercedes-Benz eActros 600 has recently been voted the 2025 International Truck of the Year.
“With knowledge gained over five years – and global support from Daimler Truck – in how to onboard electric vehicles seamlessly and with optimal return across a variety of applications, Keith Andrews is committed to partnering with transport operators on their journey to carbon-zero, and ensuring they gain maximum benefit from the transition,” said Gillatt.
