Cold chain logistics firm Hall’s Group has acquired Brausch Transport, which will start trading as part of Hall’s Group from 1 June.

Based in Auckland and Palmerston North, Brausch focuses on chilled and frozen freight.

Hall’s chief executive Tonille Crombie said the acquisition supports Hall’s vision of becoming New Zealand’s leading cold chain logistics provider, enabling it to expand its network capability and strengthen its service offering.

“Coupled with our new fleet being rolled out, it’s an exciting time for the business,” he said.

“We look forward to the opportunities this new chapter creates for both the Brausch and Hall’s people, and customers.”

Hall’s fleet renewal programme is well underway, with a third of its new units on the road.  As part of Hall’s 2023 Phase 1 rollout, the company’s order of 55 DAF and Scania units have started to arrive in the country.

Hall’s expects approximately 50 more units to arrive at the end of this year and early next year as part of its 2023/2024 Phase 2 rollout plan.

“These units are geared for maximum driver comfort, feature industry-leading safety technology and are kinder to the environment. With the 1st stage rollout happening progressively throughout our network, we’ve already seen significant reductions in CO₂ emissions,” said Crombie.

“Another good news story is an almost 80% reduction in nitrogen oxide simply by switching to Euro-6 engines. We are proud of the advancements we’re making to better care for our environment and will continue this journey across our business.”
