A mild spring morning set the scene for this year’s Alexandra’s Blossom Festival Parade of Trucks, a highlight on the local trucking calendar for both participants and spectators alike.

Booths Transport were the naming sponsor this year; contests enjoyed a barbecue and spent time socialising while a team of three got to work judging the 63 trucks entered.

Ricky Rodgers, driver of ‘Unforgiven’.

Ricky Rodgers of Melx Linehaul took away Star of the Show with ‘Unforgiven’, the Kenworth K200 he operates under Summerland Express Freight’s livery.

He led the convoy of trucks through Alexandra’s streets, the truck parade is followed by a Grand Presession of bands, vintage vehicles and handcrafted floats and these combined events see thousands of people line the parade route.

The trucks returned to Fulton Hogan’s depot where the balance of the events prizes were awarded.
