New Zealand trucking companies are able to remain operational during the current Covid-19 level 4 lockdown announced on Tuesday 17 August.

As an essential service, Penske New Zealand continues to be open across its Auckland, Christchurch, and Tauranga locations, with all branches operating from 6am to 11pm, Monday to Friday.

Scania NZ branches and its independent dealers will remain open across the country throughout all lockdown levels. 

“Staff levels may be adjusted to keep our teams working safely and productively,” it said.

It has also released some activities on the Scania Kids Hub to keep kids busy while stuck at home.

Iveco Trucks NZ is available for essential services.  

“Our primary focus is to concentrate on the health and wellness of our staff, customers and suppliers who are the key resources for our business, facility and the industry, and hence we have expanded out safety measures to make sure all the necessary steps are in place to look after the entire team,” the company said in an update.

The company’s parts and service team is available with skeleton staff to assist with any breakdowns or servicing requirements. Contact tracing and sanitisation policies are in place and all staff will abide by the sanitising rules. 

All office staff are still operational and working from home, and warranty and technical helpdesk functions are maintained with staff operating from home.

“We did this before, we can do it again. Stay safe.”

Southpac Trucks’ dealer network workshops and parts departments also remain open for business. 

Meanwhile, Keith Andrews said it is fully prepared and equipped to continue servicing its essential services customers across sales, parts and service.

It will provide servicing, repair, parts supply and vehicle sales for essential services only.

Service and repair bookings are available by appointment only during its standard business hours, 7am to 5pm Monday to Friday and 7am to 12pm Saturday. Its 24hr call-out service is also still running.

Parts for essential vehicles will be available for purchase by account, direct credit or credit card only. There will be no access to premises for these transactions. It will arrange either courier delivery or an external collection point.
