Isuzu has launched the latest model in its N Series range, with a focus on safety.
The light-duty truck features a suite of new safety features, in response to request from Isuzu customers. These include Electronic Vehicle Stability Control (EVSC), Advance Emergency Brake system (AEBS), Distance Warning System (DWS), Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS) and Hill Start Assist on some models.
Dave Ballantyne, general manager, Isuzu Trucks New Zealand, said with the addition of new safety features, the Isuzu N Series delivers on a range of ‘must have’ requirements demanded not only by corporate fleets but also smaller owner-operators.
“Typically, light-duty truck drivers operate in urban environments where there is significantly more stop-start traffic and all-round congestion. With the addition of more safety features in this type of application, they are well equipped to help reduce the risk of collisions occurring,” he said.
The performance capability of N Series has also been enhanced, with the new NMR model receiving a six-speed manual transmission and matching rear-axle ratio, improving gradeability and fuel consumption. Higher rated tyres (205/85R16) provide extra front axle capacity of 210kg and additional rear axle capacity of 380Kg respectively.
The enhancements are rounded out with the introduction of a new interior colour and updated headlights complete with LED low-beam lights, which deliver a wider, brighter and deeper beam compared with Halogen lights.
“This new N Series range builds on the model’s impressive heritage with updates firmly focused on safety. These enhancements stand the new model in good stead and for which drivers will be thankful for if and when required,” Ballantyne said.
He added that attractive running costs and less time off the road contributed to a desirable total cost of ownership and, when safety developments are considered, the new Isuzu Trucks N Series range represents an enhanced value proposition.
“The new N Series is loaded with features, there is a model to suit any number of applications with various engines, transmissions and wheelbases – plus the availability of Narrow, Standard and Crew versions to cater for different requirements,” Ballantyne said.
The new model will be available from the third quarter of 2021.
