In July 2019, Manitowoc Cranes renewed their distribution deal with TRT Australia covering Manitowoc and Grove cranes in Queensland, extending the agreement already in place with a new long-term deal.

“The commitment from Manitowoc to our growing Australian operations is in line with our strategic growth plans and reaffirms our commitment to our long-term presence both here in Queensland and Australia as a whole,” said TRT‘s chief operating officer Lawrence Baker.

Manitowoc vice president and general manager Australia and New Zealand John Stewart said TRT had been partners with Manitowoc and Grove since 1972 and is one of the longest and strongest Manitowoc distributors internationally.

“TRT‘s commitment to support Queensland customers has been outstanding and I am continually receiving positive feedback from both new and existing Manitowoc owners. As TRT continues to grow and invest in Queensland, their commitment to Manitowoc is clear and I can confirm our long-term commitment to them. We are very excited about the future in Queensland and the strong relationship we have with TRT Australia.”

TRT has been manufacturing trailers and Traction Air CTI systems for the Australian market for more than 25 years. In 2016, TRT became the distributor for Manitowoc and Grove cranes in Queensland, moving to their current Murarrie, Brisbane location, a site previously occupied by Manitowoc. At this time, TRT began manufacture and distribution of their own crane, the TIDD PC25, a 25t articulating crane.

It was at the same time TRT purchased B&N Cranes Pty Ltd, a well-established Brisbane crane service and repair specialist. In 2018, TRT expanded the facilities on the Murarrie site, adding another 600m2 fully covered workshop, including a 10t gantry crane and service facilities for cranes, general equipment and heavy haul trailers, and increasing the overall capacity of the warehouse facilities.

“We now have 24 fully trained technicians in the field and onsite; six are factory trained specialist Manitowoc Grove technicians, based at Murarrie and we have a full parts and service back up 24/7,” said TRT Australia country manager Stephen Dance.

“We are committed to our Queensland customers for the long haul. As the mining industry and infrastructure projects continue to grow from strength to strength across Queensland, we have invested in a number of new cranes to keep in stock at our Brisbane site, crawlers, all terrain cranes and the latest TIDD PC28 articulated cranes. We know that business can‘t wait when customers need equipment, so we are here ready to deliver.”
