Truck Stops (NZ) Limited, a subsidiary of Sime Darby Motor Group (NZ) Limited, is purchasing Blenheim truck servicing business, Transmar Services, to expand New Zealand‘s largest commercial truck servicing network.

Patrick McKenna, managing director for New Zealand and Australia, Sime Darby Motors, said the acquisition was in line with their strategy to focus on the expansion of their retail car and commercial truck footprints in New Zealand and Australia.

He said growing the New Zealand nationwide network to extend Sime Darby Commercial Group‘s franchise family of Hino, Volvo, Mack and UD trucks has always been their objective, and adding the strategically important Blenheim location to the existing Truck Stops‘ network was very fulfilling.

“The inclusion of the Blenheim business brings the total number of Truck Stops branches throughout New Zealand to 17, making us the largest wholly-owned truck servicing network in the country.”

Sime Darby Motors New Zealand‘s Commercial national footprint is complemented by a number of dealers and service agents, giving the business a national coverage. The Blenheim operation will trade as Truck Stops from 3 July.

“Throughout the sale process it has been our priority to ensure that Transmar Services employees would be offered employment within Truck Stops,” said McKenna.
