After enjoying its best sales results on record in 2016, increasing volume by almost 63% and increasing market share from 2.63% to 4.5%, IVECO New Zealand has already exceeded 2016 full year figures in its first six months of 2017.

Ian Walker, GM for IVECO New Zealand, said 2016 was their best year ever and when he said at the EXPO they would exceed 200 units this year for the first time ever, he never expected it would happen by June.

Last year IVECO‘s sales results were particularly strong in the light duty (4.5t plus) market, as well as in 6×4 trucks, propelling the brand from 12th position on the sales charts at the end of 2015 to 7th last year, making it the fastest growing commercial vehicle brand in the country.

“This year we have seen massive growth in truck sales across the board,” Walker said. “With the introduction and interest in our Trakker range accelerating beyond our expectations and the Stralis 8×4 enjoying a well-deserved resurgence in fleets, the future is looking very promising for the brand across all models.”

The IVECO Stralis has enjoyed increased success including one New Zealand fleet customer placing an order for 15 units for delivery later this year.

“The recent results for the brand have been extremely encouraging and show that we are continuing to provide customers with vehicles that suit their business needs,” Walker said.

“Developing the correct product mix for the market has been critical – we‘ve consulted with the market and then developed and launched products to best fit what Kiwi owners are looking for in a van or truck and we will continue to do this with new product launches to be announced later this year.”

Walker also noted that the brand benefited from regular new product support launches and enhancements, providing buyers with a modern, efficient and technologically advanced range of vehicles to meet the most demanding users.

IVECO has also invested in expanding and modernising its dealer network, growing its head office team and enhancing its suite of aftersales products and service.

“IVECO Trucks New Zealand is here for the long term and operators will be seeing a lot more of our vehicles out on the roads this year and beyond,” said Walker.
